Privacy Policy
Effective 29 April 2026 · Version 1.0
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) describes how Peter Gregory Obi, CON(the “Authorising Principal,” sometimes also referred to as the “Campaign,” “we,” “our” or “us”), through this website at peterobi.support(the “Site”), collects, uses, stores, discloses, transfers, and protects personal data of users (“you,” “your” or “Data Subject”) who access or interact with the Site.
We process personal data in compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023 (NDPA), the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation, 2019 (NDPR), the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable, the UK Data Protection Act 2018, the California Consumer Privacy Act 2018 (CCPA / CPRA), and any other applicable data-protection law in your jurisdiction. Where these regimes conflict, we apply the rule that affords the strongest protection to the Data Subject.
Nothing in this Policy creates an employer-employee, partnership, agency, or fiduciary relationship between you and the Authorising Principal beyond what is expressly required by applicable law.
2. Scope and applicability
This Policy applies to:
- Visitors who browse the Site, including pages such as
/states/*,/lga/*,/diaspora/*,/issues/*, and/compare/*; - Persons who initiate a contribution through our donation flow, irrespective of whether the contribution is completed, abandoned, or refunded;
- Persons who voluntarily contact the Campaign by email, social media, or any other channel reasonably understood to be operated by the Campaign;
- Volunteers, supporters, and authorised affiliates who collaborate with the Campaign through the Site or any related portal.
This Policy does not apply to third-party services we link to. Where you click an external link, the privacy policy of that third party will govern.
3. Summary of our practices
We have written this Policy to be readable. The detail lives in the seven numbered sections linked from the side navigation. The brief version:
- We collect only what is necessary to operate the Site, accept lawful contributions, and comply with the Electoral Act 2022 and INEC regulations.
- We do not sell personal data. We do not buy supporter lists from data brokers. We do not run ads on this Site.
- We use a minimal, privacy-friendly analytics setup that does not require a cookie banner under EU/UK GDPR for the basic visitor counts.
- Where you donate, your transaction data is processed by NowPayments, our regulated payment partner, on the strict terms summarised in Section 3 - Donor information.
- You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Section 4 explains how to exercise them.
- Our regulator-of-record in Nigeria is the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC). If you live in the EEA, your local supervisory authority may also have jurisdiction.
4. Contact
For any privacy question, request, or complaint, write to contact@peterobi.support. Our Data Protection Officer (“DPO”) is reachable at the same address. We respond to verifiable Data Subject requests within thirty (30) calendar days, extendable by a further sixty (60) days where the request is complex or numerous, in accordance with NDPA section 36.
